Since co-founding/initiating the Aruba Happy Flow project for the Government of Aruba in 2013 digital Identity and travel has been her focus and passion. The Happy Flow project was the first single biometric token initiative that created a seamless and contactless passenger facilitation uniting the public and private stakeholder processes. She is currently a consultant on digital identity in the travel eco system and continues as senior advisor to the second phase called the Aruba Happy One Pass project, with one of the aims is to leverage the use of the ICAO DTC. Next to that she is also contributing to the EU Identity Wallet Consortium that is preparing the large scale pilot awarded to them by the EU Commission focussing on the travel use case, payments and organisational digital identity.

In 2016 Annet took on the chair of IATA's Facilitation Working Group (FWG) and has since been actively involved in several IATA OneID working groups. In 2020 Annet was a awarded the Women in Biometrics Award.

Annet has over 20 years international experience working in the field of border management.

Project Leader, United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (UN/CEFACT)

As a member of the Australian delegation to UN/CEFACT, Steve Capell has been contributing to digital standards for trade facilitation for around 20 years. In that capacity he has recently led three projects that are relevant to this discussion - Re-publishing of the UN/CEFACT Buy-Ship-Pay reference data model as a modern web vocabulary at UN/CEFACT Web Vocabulary - A white paper that provides guidance for nations on the use of verifiable credentials for cross-border digital trust use cases including sustainable supply chains (White Paper - eDATA Verifiable Credentials for Cross Border Trade) - An interoperability and scalability framework for the UNECE textile & Leather traceability project (Traceability for Sustainable Garment and Footwear) that will permit data to flow though long supply chains and across multiple different traceability platforms. Whilst working on these projects, Steve has encountered a number of challenges (and some potential solutions) to the implementation of sustainable supply chains including concerns such as mass-balance, greenwashing, data privacy, paper compatibility, and commercial incentives. This year, the UNECE will build upon it’s success with the textile and leather traceability project to launch similar projects for agriculture & food traceability as well as critical minerals traceability. When not working on UN/CEFACT projects, Steve runs a boutique consultancy in Canberra, Australia that provides digital strategy and implementation services to Australian government agencies including the Australian border Force, the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment & Water, and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries & Forestry.
