Technical Demonstration
With the strong support of experts from the Traveller Identification Programme (TRIP) and Public Key Directory (PKD) communities, ICAO will offer a series of hands-on technical demonstrations and tests on the sidelines of the conference. In addition, several focused technical presentations will be delivered in a dedicated demonstration area that will allow interested participants to understand principles and requirements for issuance and authentication of various formats of travel document defined by ICAO.
- The technical area set up by ICAO will comprise:
Two separate closed areas where participants will be able to engage in hands-on testing and discussion on features of their own electronic passports. This will allow those participating to understand the contents and features of their documents, the means by which they can be verified electronically, and the use cases possible with such documents now and moving forward. There will also be the opportunity to assess conformance to ICAO specifications on travel documents and thereby assure global interoperability of such documents now and in the future. - A dedicated side stage area where experts will deliver focused presentations on specific topics of interest to participants. These 10- to 15-minute presentations, offered during coffee and lunch breaks, will provide attendees with quick yet in-depth reviews of the features and capabilities of travel documents and the infrastructures defined by ICAO to facilitate their global use.
The technical demonstrations will be complemented by the demonstration of novel and innovative technologies that leverage the features of an ICAO travel document by some of the attending exhibitors.
Make sure to bring your passport and engage in this excellent opportunity to learn and share!
