Join this roundtable to hear about ATM/air navigation innovations that are available now. During this session, the panel will provide insights into innovations already approved and available that could provide major improvements to the current system. In addition, our panelists will discuss the following sub-topics:
- What innovation should the community be the most excited about? and
- What are the regulatory hurdles to increasing uptake of innovations, and how can they be addressed?
Speakers:
Michele Carandente
Michele Carandente is the Deputy Vice President Air Traffic Services for Aireon. He has been involved with Aireon from the very beginning of its creation. Before that he worked at ENAV, the Italian Air Navigation Service Provider, in the International Strategies directorate following future CNS/ATM infrastructures for 10 years. Before joining ENAV, Michele worked in the UK in maritime business. He holds a Master's Degree in Computer and Networking Engineering with a specialization in ATC systems. He has also attended training sessions at the ENAV Academy on ATC and participated at several EUROCONTROL safety certification courses. He has been involved in ICAO's surveillance panel as full member, representing Italy.
Hugo Moen
Hugo Moen is GBAS General Sales Manager at Indra. He has a Master of Science degree in Physics and has over 20 years of experience working with GBAS, from the early SCAT-I systems to today's CAT III capable GBAS GAST D system. The last 15 years he has worked in the field of Sales and Business development, mainly in Europe, Middle East and Asia.
Philippe Bochet
Philippe Bochet is ATC Product Line Director for AMS (Airspace Mobility Solutions). True expert in Air Traffic Management systems, Philippe Bochet has worked for Thales for 30 years. During 15 years since 1998 he held the role of Engineering Program Manager for many ATC Centres in Europe, then, in 2013 he became Engineering Department Director for European projects. Today, Philippe is the ATC product line Director for Airspace Mobility Solutions, based in Rungis, France. In his role, Philippe is in charge of defining product roadmaps and governance for air traffic control systems (including tower, approach and en-route solutions) from technological, functional and business perspectives. Philippe holds an Engineering degree in aeronautics, specialized in Data processing and Air Traffic from ENAC (National French Civil Aviation School) and is passionate about aviation.
