Accident Investigation Panel
Since its
promulgation some sixty years ago, Annex 13 — Aircraft Accident and Incident
Investigation has been primarily progressed through the work of AIG
Divisional Meetings. Recent developments have required that accident and
incident investigation techniques and procedures progress more efficiently and
expeditiously. The establishment of the Accident Investigation Panel (AIGP)
will enable timely and cost-effective advancement of provisions for
investigations called for in Annex 13 to the Convention.
The AIGP will
research and develop provisions for accident and incident investigations to
allow for timely and effective investigations as set forth in Annex 13, and in
support of the Global Aviation Safety Plan (GASP).
